Nitro AN517-41 restarts several times a week with no error message and no warning.

A few days ago it wouldn't come back at all until the internal battery was reset and then worked fine until the next day when it was dead again. Once reset it worked with either the battery or the AC plugged in. Waiting to see if it goes dead overnight again.

What is the exact Nitro model number as you missed the last number of the model number, as there is no Nitro model AN517-4x, but there is an AN517-41/42/43. The oldest Nitro AN517-4x laptop is the AN517-41 which is a 2020 laptop, and its battery is 3 to max 4 years old and that could be the cause of the power off problems that you are having. Anyway, your problem is either a battery or a main power rail issue which you should first do a command prompt battery report and see the state of the battery, as if the battery has low power than it will shut the laptop off, if that is not the cause then its a main power rail circuitry problem that needs diagnosing by an experienced technician or taking your laptop to Acer Tech Support. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    Thanks StevenGen,

it is the Nitro An571 41.

I did do a battery report while it was up. (Its now quite dead). Oops i spoke too soon. I did one more battery reset and it just came on. It says its 98% charged. Battery report does not look bad. Battery report concludes with" Current estimate of battery life based on all observed drains since OS install Since OS install 3:37:08 4:13:28.

Event viewer just says an unexpected shutdown as if it suddenly lost all power.

I will try another battery when it comes but I'm afraid its something in the wiring as you suggested.
