Hi,

I have a Acer NITRO AN517-41 with no OS on it, so I want to install WIN10, but when I try to install it, it doesn't work, because it says that a driver is missing.

The message itself is this:

A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB, or Hard Disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD, or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.

Note: If the installation media for windows is in the DVD drive or on a USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step.

Tried this initially: https://community.acer.com/en/kb/articles/13832-hard-disk-not-detected-during-windows-10-installation

What I did understand from the other answer is that i have to get the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver and then try and load them manually from the setup, but that does not work.

Going to the drivers for my model that driver is not available, so I tried getting one from AN517-55 and it still doesn't work.

Any help?

Shut the machine off. Turn it back on and immediately tap F2 to enter the BIOS menu.

In the MAIN tab or section, press Ctrl+S. Look for a SATA mode or VMD controller option.

If SATA mode option, make sure it's in AHCI mode. If VMD controller option, make sure it's disabled.

Press F10 to save settings and exit BIOS. The Windows installer should now work.
