Hello, I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 7 laptop model A715-76G, which comes with an Intel Core i5 12450H processor. The device comes without an operating system. I have downloaded Windows 10 from the official Microsoft website. When trying to install the operating system, the SSD drive is not recognized. I need the necessary drivers to make the SSD drive recognizable during the installation. Could you help me solve this issue? Thank you.

This is a new Windows 11 laptop with Windows11 BIOS 2023/02/21 version 1.08, don't try and install Windows10 on it. If you cannot clean install Windows11 I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country and ask to install OEM Windows11 Home on it for a reasonable service charge. To install windows 11 and see the storage in windows installation storage list, you have to have a usb stick windows 11 instalation kit GPT with UEFI, i recommend using Rufus for it. To get windows 11 ISO, go to microsoft website and download it from there(search it, you can without account or key). Then you need to go to Acer support divers and search for ur laptop and download the driver IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver. Then place it inside usb stick windows 11 kit, i recommend to extract the driver from archive first.

Then boot the usb stick into bios boot manager with f12 (enable it in bios if it is not(to enter bios press f2 when computer starts(same with f12 when computer starts))) and enter into windows installation. Then at storage list if it is empty go to load driver at the bottom (use tab and space to navigate) then press ok, and ok, then press on browse at bottom. Then go to IRST driver location on usb stick and go inside it in f6>VMD>"someLetters", select it with space, press OK, then go to Next at bottom right. Then your storage should be shown. Now proceed with normal installation.

    Thank you for reading,

    Have a nice day!

It's unusual for a Windows 10 installation to not recognize the SSD drive in a modern laptop. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings:Ensure the SSD is being detected in the BIOS/UEFI settings. Access the BIOS by restarting the laptop and pressing a specific key (often Del, F2, or Esc) during startup. Check if the SSD is visible in the BIOS. If not, there might be a hardware issue or the drive might not be properly connected.
    2. Verify SSD Compatibility:Confirm that the SSD is compatible with your laptop model. Sometimes, certain SSDs might not be recognized due to compatibility issues. The Acer Aspire 7 A715-76G likely supports NVMe or SATA SSDs, so make sure the SSD you have is compatible.
    3. Check SSD Connection:If the SSD is replaceable, consider reseating the SSD, ensuring it's properly connected to the motherboard.
    4. Load SSD Driver During Windows Installation:During the Windows installation, you might need to load the SSD driver manually. This is a bit technical, but sometimes required for certain SSDs. You'll need to download the specific SSD driver from Acer's website onto a USB drive and then, during Windows installation, load the driver when prompted.
    5. Use a Different Installation Method:If you're using a USB drive for Windows installation, try a different USB port or create a new bootable USB drive using the Windows Media Creation Tool.
    6. Contact Acer Support:If the issue persists, it might be beneficial to contact Acer's customer support for more specific guidance or even a potential hardware issue with the SSD or laptop itself.
    7. Professional Assistance:If you're not comfortable with technical procedures, seeking help from a professional or a local tech expert might be the best option.

It's essential to make sure the SSD is properly recognized by the system before proceeding with the Windows installation. If you've checked the hardware connections and the SSD compatibility, loading the specific SSD driver during the Windows installation might be the next crucial step.
