Hi,
Question, so Ive been trying to wipe my whole computer and reinstall windows with a USB drive (a clean Install) but every time I am in the installer my drives aren't detected. I did some research and I guess my drives Are in RAID mode and need to be switched to AHCI. I've done everything I can to get to that setting but I can't, like at all. Please help.

Bios Ver 1.15
Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54

Yes, I've hit Ctrl + S on the main tab and some options popped up but not the one to switch from RAID to AHCI

Yes, I was able to install Linux with no problem whatsoever. Literal boot up then install.

Try to format the SSD first to GUID (GPT) if you have another laptop or PC? As your SSD should be recognised and should work unless its a Crucial MX series as they have had some compatibility issues, also the AHCI mode is not suggested for Win-11 or 10 as its for the Linux OS! Look at the Acer guide “How to change SATA mode to AHCI” as below is what that guide says:

By default, the SATA Mode on Acer notebooks is set to RST with Optane. The option to switch to AHCI is hidden by default, because switching to AHCI may result in the system not being able to boot to Windows. If SATA Mode is not visible in the system BIOS, press CTRL+S on the MAIN tab of the system BIOS to activate it.

In some cases using AHCI is required, for example when installing Linux not windows. To switch to AHCI, please refer to the steps below:

    1. Press the Windows Key ⊞ and type msconfig in the run box and press Enter.

    2. Click on the Boot tab and check the option to enable Safe Boot, then click OK.

    3. Restart your computer and enter the system BIOS by pressing F2 during boot.

    4. In the MAIN section of the system BIOS, select SATA Mode and switch to AHCI.

    5. Press F10 to save the changes and exit the BIOS.
