Acer Predator PHN16-71 not booting when on battery but turns on while on charging.

I have PHN16-71 tomorrow I simply opened by laptop and pressed power button but the laptop didn't start and while i plugged it in it started using power button but showed 80% charge after that whenever i try to start my laptop it won't boot up but turns on normally when plugged in.

Btw the led on the side of laptop blinks red a few times when power button is pressed.

and i use dual booted windows and arch based garuda linux (dragonized) but i don't this the issue is linux as i am using it for like a month now.

Known changes -

I applied 80% charge limit using acer care center app.

even after disabling it won't work. I tried resetting bios, changing boot menu back to windows boot loader , enabling/disabling secure boot, etc. but laptop just won't start on battery.

Don't use Acer Care Center it does not run well in Windows11 and forget about that Battery Limiting theory, it is based on nothing and interferes with MS ACPI battery protocol and BIOS. Charge your battery to 100% the first time and unplug, let it drain (use your laptop) till it turns off automatically (goes to hibernate mode below 4%). Plug in the adapter/charger and charge again to 100%. If you still have these power issues return your laptop to the retailer, this is a brand-new model that should not have booting issues. Don't open up the back of the laptop as that will void the Acer warranty.

Despite being risky, I would try to update the bios first and then see if the problem occurs. If the issue continues to occur, it can be resolved by simply disconnecting and reconnecting the battery from the motherboard.

My PH16-71 (13900HX CPU and RTX4080 GPU) did the same 2 months ago, it went back to Acer for repair, they ended up sending me a replacement as it required a new battery and motherboard. Whilst googling for this issue I found several article on this Acer Community which all related to a similar issue but on the previous model. Mine was very slightly different, I didnt use Acer Care Center to limit to 80%, but I did ask it to calibrate the battery, I then left it plugged in for a few days and like you, when disconnected it wouldn't poser up, but plugging in the PSU and it booted fine saying there was something like 93% battery left?.

A quick check seems to show up battery issues similar to this with the older 300

Is it worth uninstalling Acer Care Center? or will not using it be sufficient or as its always running is it always trying to do stuff that as you say, doesnt play nicely with Windows 11?.

The Predator PHN16-71 is a newly release and a brand-new Acer model laptop, and it could be that its got some part faults and/or some startup chip issues that are frozen and needs to be opened for a hard reset to be done. Before doing this "if you are prepared to do a hard reset and open your laptop?" be very careful and inspect the laptop if its got any warranty stickers on it as if you break these stickers your warranty will be voided! That is if you don't want to wait for the Acer Tech Support to fix your laptop?

A hard reset entails taking the back cover off, taking the main battery out, disconnecting the RTC/BIOS battery and then shortening the RTC/BIOS batteries +&- pins with a paper clip to reset the CMOS at the mainboard plug, and taking the ram out, then leaving all these components disconnected for 15min and then reconnecting all components. What the hard reset does is it resets your laptops startup chips like a frozen Super IO or the Chipset chips, as that is what is wrong with your laptop. The exact thing happened to my out of the box new Nitro laptop, which must be a common thing with some of these Acer Predators and Nitro gaming laptops, as after I did this hard reset my laptop never ever had these startup problems again.
