How do I change my email address?

I am trying to change my account email address on this site. I can edit it on the Profile page and it appears to accept the new address, but there is a message saying that I need to confirm the new email. How do I do this?

Whenever I log off and log on again it has reverted to the old email.

I was expecting something like that, but when I put in the new email no "Verify your email" dialog opened up or a box to say I'm not a robot (as described in the link you provided).

In fact, whatever email address I type in it puts a message at the bottom saying Your email has been updated.

Is there something I can do differently?

They have been making a bunch of changes to the site over the last few weeks, so it's not surprising the docs don't exactly match any longer. Check to make sure the verification email isn't going into a spam folder…

I've checked junk folders, tried using different browsers, logged in on Windows and Android and none of these open up a popup window with an option to send a verification email. (I've also checked that popups are not blocked.) I seriously don't think the website is working properly.

Curiously I'm getting email notifications of replies to the new email address, but I still have to log on to my account using the old email.

I'll point this thread out to the moderators and maybe one of them can help out.

    Hello @simonc8,

I am sorry to hear you're having this issue. The procedure to change the email remains the same as pointed in the article. Would you please send me a private message with both emails and, if possible, a screenshot of the the pop-up message you mentioned. I will be happy to escalate the issue.

    Best regards,

    Acer-Ingrid
