If this was a typo and your model is in fact the Aspire5 a515-54-55xx the answer is: Yes you can increase the RAM to 20GB (there is also a model with 16GB RAM)

! x 4GB DDR4 is soldered on the motherboard (not replaceable) with either 2666 or 3200 MHz. To find out the frequency and size of the soldered DDR4 you have to run the WMIC command below (or CPU-Z that only reads the slots),

There is another variant (not common) of this model that does not have the DDR4 soldered with 2 slots, 16Gb in total (8 + 8) rep

If you don't want to open your laptop to look how many slots you have paste this in the Command Prompt opened as administrator:

Wmic memorychip list full (to scan the soldered 4GB DDR4 module)

Or if you bought the rare a515-54 model with 8GB DDR4 (for 2 replaceable DDR4 modules in 2 slots) run this command:

wmic MemoryChip get Banklabel, Capacity, Configuredclockspeed, Devicelocator, FormFactor, Manufacturer, Serialnumber, Speed

I assume you have the popular a515-54 model with only 1 empty DDR4 slot inside to upgrade the RAM to 20 GB maximum by adding 1 x 16GB DDR4 module. Note that the clock speed is 2667 MHz so even if you install (or is soldered) a 3200 MHz DDR4 the speed will be maximum 2667 MHz. For Windows11 22H2 I recommend (like I have) that you install 1 x 4GB DDR4 identical to the WMIC scan results of the DDR4 inside (even the brand if you can get it). That set will guaranteed to run in Dual Channel mode at 2667 MHz speed. I get an average speed, Read-Write-Copy, of 30 GByte/sec. even exceeding the clock speed with these 2 fantastic modules (see picture). But you may have another brand soldered on the MOBO; please stick to that. If you don't care at all about Dual Channel and maximum speed but want the maximum 20 GB RAM for huge games/4K video or whatever program requires 20GB (unlikely) you can install 1 x 16GB DDR4 but you really only need 8GB for running Windows 11 full blast with all the "Bells and Whistles" like Offie, Acrobat, Hyper-V, etc. (I never use more than 4.5GB).
