BIOS "CRISIS" mode recovery on ACER N19Q8 - model A215-41-R752 (Aspire 5)

OK - I didn't heed the warnings about unnecessarily updating BIOS on my A215-41-R752 (Aspire 5) laptop. I tried to update from 1.08 to 2.00. I dutifully followed the instructions and the update appeared to complete successfully. However, when I turn on the power I just get a blank screen.

I've read that there's a "CRISIS" mode recovery process and I've tried to follow it. I downloaded a bios from the Product Support site and unzipped the file, then unzipped the application BIOS_200 to obtain its contents. There's a "Z8IR_multi.fd" which I take to be the BIOS file but I don't know what to do from there.

Black screen.... i tried the crisis usb key, but the right bios is not recognized. After FN+ESC the led
keep flashing, and nothing happens. Any tips? Ty.

The only way to make the led of the laptop stay flashed is:
1 Fn + Esc + Power
2 Wait for it to stop flashing as shown in the video (Blinks only 2 times)
3 At that moment I stop pressing Fn + Esc + Power and then I do it again
4 I keep Fn + Esc + Power pressed until the LED flashes and does not stop.

The USB led never flashes.

If you are unable to flash the BIOS with a USB bootable flash drive bring your laptop to a computer repair shop or Acer Services and they will do it for a small fee.

So I don't see any A215-41 models. Take a look on your serial number sticker and verify that is the correct model number for your laptop. The ACER N19Q8 doesn't help because we don't have cross references, but a Google on that shows various TravelMate models, not Aspires.

Your laptop is a TravelMate P215-41 model not an Aspire 5 model, you must have done something drastically wrong or you interrupted the bios flash mid-way through and rebooted the laptop prematurely, as a bios flash with an executable BIOS_200 file that is flashed within windows for the TravelMate is very hard to brick and flash wrongly.

To do a Crisis USB disk you need a Hex Editor and you need to extract the ,FD files into this USBs flash disk root directory and then flash the bios in a certain way. To do this, you need experience and unfortunately this community forum rules forbids any bios guides on bios recoveries due to the consequences that it can cause with inexperienced users.

I strongly suggest that you take your laptop to an experienced technician that has experience in reprograming bios chips to reprogram your faulty programed bios chip, or if your bios chip is damaged a technician can replace the bios chip with a new reprogramed TravelMate P215-41 bios version:3.03 chip, as that could also be another reason why your version 2.0 TravelMate P215-41 wasn’t flashed properly, of if your laptop is under Acer warranty then send it to Acer support under warranty.
