Acer aspire 5 a515-55 Beeping as if the charger is disconnected but it is connected

Hello,

This laptop starts beeping because it thinks the charger is disconnected but it's always connected. It's just for a split second that it goes on battery mode, it does this a couple of times back to back.

Then it goes back to normal plugged in charger mode. It's very annoying.

I've always been careful with the laptop. There's no external/internal damage on the DC-in.

It's past warranty and I took a look inside. Nothing is damaged. I tried another charger and the same thing happens.

I removed the battery, turned it on and it shutdown because it thought it had no charger and having no battery of course, the laptop shut off.

All the drivers are updated as well.

Anyone have any idea what might be going on?

I'll never buy from Acer ever again. What a waste of money. And this community is too dumb to understand it's NOT the battery having issues eventho I said so multiple times.

It seems your battery needs replacement. It is a signal that it nears at the end of its serviceable life.

The laptop is just over a year old. And like I said at first, without the battery, the same thing happens.

buy a new battery together with new charger and try to test if the problem persists.

if on a tight budget, bring it to Acer service center near you and avail warranty.

    @Serros

First turn off the laptop and disconnect the charger. Than flip your laptop and you can find a small battery reset pin hole. Put a paper clip inside the pinhole and press and hold for 20 seconds. Than connect the charger and see if the issue is fixed or not.

Check the below picture to find the battery reset button

    Hi @Serros

Assuming you are running Windows 10-11, to check the status of your battery just create a Battery Report (to be viewed on your desktop). Type the following command in the Command Prompt (opened as administrator):

    powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html

Double click on the icon on your desktop and check if the fully charge capacity is close to the Designed Capacity and also the charge history to see if this is erratic. Slight fluctuations in the City Power, a bad wall socket, not using a proper grounding for the 3rd pin power plug adapter may also cause the beep.
