Hi,

I've got a Acer Aspire 3 laptop which I stupidly downloaded Outbyte Driver Updater on and it now causing my computer to get stuck on the acer screen. I've tried safe mode and resetting and it seems to go through that process but when it tries to boot again it just goes back to the original problem, the acer screen appears, it then crashed with the blue screen and then goes back to acer screen but doesn't go any further than that.

I've followed numerous threads for different issues to no avail so any help will be appreciated.

    try the following:

    1. insert a usb flash drive to your laptop or desktop computer. (be sure to backup the contents of your usb flash drive)
    2. download rufus https://rufus.ie/en/, then run it.
    3. left click the drop down arrow next to the word "SELECT" and left click "DOWNLOAD" to download the original Windows 11 ISO from Microsoft. Watch the full tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me-GmdIlbgc&ab_channel=PortalSeven
    4. after that, press START. wait for it to finish.
    5. close rufus, open your usb flash drive then run the setup executable.
    6. be sure to backup all the files in Drive C: or any drive partition where the operating system resides before doing step 5.
    7. be sure you have a good internet connection for the contents of the flash drive to be updated to the latest.
    8. as the setup runs, select delete all files, like you are installing a fresh operating system.
    9. wait and trust the process to complete.
    10. after that, download the latest official drivers from Acer. https://www.acer.com/us-en/support/drivers-and-manuals
    11. download the serial number detection utility/tool to obtain the device serial number or SNID
    12. download all the drivers, extract each, then install.
    13. hopefully, your problem will be solved.
    14. driver problems happens when you restore your operating system using the factory recovery image.
    15. after all the drivers installed and working properly. make an image of the whole drive using macrium reflect, aomei, easeus, minitool and many others. Watch the tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9BGn4MivJw&ab_channel=BracerJack
    16. the purpose of making your own backup image of the whole drive is to shorten the restoration process in case of problems or malware attacks.

You need to do the following and if this does not work then you will need to reinstall windows, if you have valuable data on the disk then you need to get a recovery tech to recover your data, as that is the safest way, as attempting to recover data yourself will destroy your data and 99% of the time it will make your data unrecoverable with these free or purchased recovery software that are around. Try first to do this, restart your laptop, and Press F11 continuously while booting, now you’ll get the Advanced Startup options menu then use the Starup Repair in that screen and see if that repairs the startup of your laptop.

Hi, unfortunately startup repair doesn't work, it advises that it couldn't repair my PC. When I try to reinstall windows it goes through the process but when the computer boots up again, it goes back to same issue of just showing the Acer screen and then it crashes and gets stuck.

You did not mention the USB recovery drive, if you did not make one borrow a USB recovery drive from a friend that has the same OS (Windows10-11 Home?) that you have, no need to have the same build version. Boot with the USB Recovery drive while pressing F2 to open BIOS, go to the last BIOS page "Boot device list" to check if the USB drive has been detected then move the USB drive to the top of the list and exit BIOS while saving new settings and reboot. Select "Recover from a drive" and following the 3 screens below to reset your system (note that your screens may not mention "Reset"):

Thanks for the suggestions. I have another computer I can put the windows ISO on a USB drive on to then try and use to fix my laptop. I'll try and figure it out tonight and let you know the outcome.

It worked!!! i'm back on. I download the rufus software and downloaded the microsoft ISO, put it on a USB, changed boot order and reset my laptop. removed the USB and it went through the set up and all back up and running.

    Thanks for all your help!
