that I'm not sure of i haven't seen or read that but I'll let Ya know after mines done Monday or Tuesday depending on what day it comes, I'm not even sure I'll have to snip that zip tie because I'm putting the CPU fan right above where it is now so i shouldn't have too Yanno.

You should plug the extra case fan either into #2 or #16 using s splitter. You need to look at the current CPU fans to see if they are actually plugged into #3 with the cooling pump in #4 or if they are plugged into #4 with a splitter. If, as I suspect, they are plugged into #3 then the new cooler fans should also be plugged into the #3 spots.

mines air cooled plugged into slot 4 now.... so, i assume i can plug the 2 noctua fans into the dual slot 3 and then use the splitter on the rear fan to power it and the CPU fan going up top above the cooler.

I never make assumptions like that. Your system is using #4 to control the CPU fan, so the Noctua should be connected to #4 with the splitter. We don't know for sure the same control is used for #3 and #4. The top fan should be connected to the same port as the rear fan, with a splitter, so you might have to come up with a second splitter.

yeah, the fans work in either number 3 slot they just run full bore then with no way to control them and no reading either in predator sense so i used the splitter for the noctua fans into 4 and for now until my 2nd splitter comes in i have the top fan in the right side of port 3 and it works but it runs full speed even if i select auto.

I wonder if having the noctua would allow you to game without having the fans maxed out in game mode.. that would be nice.

well in gaming mode you can't even hear the noctua fans only the frost blade ones lol. but I'm not trying no way it will keep the temps down look at what i posted I'm getting with it in gaming mode so i think it would still run hot if not in gaming mode if Ya want silence, then you would have to replace all the frost blade fans with the noctua ones that come on the cooler they do sell them. and I've watched many videos lately about fan speed and how to properly cool the Intel CPU and all say run in high performance-gaming mode to get the best efficiency out of the CPU otherwise you will overheat it and eventually ruin it. ide post videos but they are just that person's opinion and not mine i always run mine in gaming mode no matter what I'm doing i only use auto when its left on for the Nite. to me they are not loud at all i mean c'mon it's not central air loud or central heat loud heh

The issues with fan noise is always directly related to fan speed and air flow. To move enough air to properly cool a system that's being tasked heavily pretty much requires moving a lot of air, and the air movement is where the noise is generated. Fan blade design can make a difference, hence the noise levels on the Noctua vs Frost Blade, but there's only so much that can help.

Yeah that's understandable. Well even if I have to have the fans in gaming mode (which is not insanely loud) those temps will be much better for my cpu in the long run. This desktop was an investment and it makes sense to help protect it.
