What is the exact model name? Example SF316-51-72YJ.

Reset BIOS or UEFI to default settings:

    1. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, or until your system shuts completely down.
    2. Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press F2 for notebooks or Delete for desktops to enter the BIOS.
    3. Press F9 and then Enter to load the default configuration.
    4. Press F10 and then Enter to save and exit.

  • It would help if you told us what exact Swift 3 model that you have and this problem is with? But and what I would do is to first open the back cover off your Swift and disconnect the main battery and RTC/bios batteries. leave them disconnected for about 5min and then reconnect and boot your laptop up and see if you get an image? As what this does, it does a hard reset of the super IO chip and bios chip that could have a problem in its software that relates to the image to your laptops screen only.

If this does not fix anything, then it could be that your laptops monitor eDP cable/plugs have either been damaged or shorted out or have disconnected from either the monitor screen or mobo or this actual eDP cable is damaged and does not provide either a data or power signal to your laptops monitor or at worst it's your laptops screen that is damaged, which is highly unlikely.

Check all those aspects out first as the eDP cable is under allot of movement and stress whenever your open and close the laptop and this cable is prone to its many fine cables splitting and being damaged and/or its mobo or screen plugs shorting out due to a cable shortage. Best is to take your laptop to an experienced tech who can analyze your laptop and pinpoint the exact faults that your laptop has. God luck and hope this helps you out.

    This is a screen eDP cable/plug for a Swift 3 - SF313-51

The exact model is Swift SF314-41 series and logo does not appear when powered on it's pure black screen the only way I can see the display is by connecting it to an external monitor

Then there are three possibilities, the eDP cable as Steven suggests, the display itself or the motherboard. Those are in order of most to least likely. At three years old your system is new enough it's probably worth investing in a replacement cable to try and fix it. If it's the display itself or the motherboard it's likely not worth repairing. :(
