I have tried resetting windows, downgrading win 11 to win 10, downloading touchpad drivers from acer website and installing them to no avail. Even enabling the touchpad button(Fn + F2) does nothing.
Any help would be appreciated.

What about Nitro AN515-57(Acer nitro5 ). I am also having the same issue where i2c hid driver is not working and because of that my touchpad is also not working. And i am having this issue since last 10 months, but sometimes it starts working on it's own but this time i have tried everything reinstalling, uninstalling and downloading drivers from acer support but not getting any results. I am currently using external mouse. Please help.

    Hi Thelastoutlaw10

Try to update the keyboard driver
    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option keyboard driver.
    4. Under the title keyboard driver.

    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title keyboard driver.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

You can find the touchpad symbol on f6 or f7 key on keyboard. It is a symbol which shows the fingers on a hand. On some computers it is on f6 key and on some models it is on f7 key. It is used to enable or disable the touchpad.

Please try holding the fn key on keyboard and press f6. If it is not working simply press only the f6 without holding the fn key. If it is still not working press and hold the fn key on keyboard and press f7. If it is not working simply press f7 without holding fn key.

On some models you can see the touchpad key right next to touchpad or next to power button. You just need to press it to enable or disable it.

If it is still not working you might have to do a system restore. Try holding the windows key and x on keyboard. On the menu - choose command admin or power shell admin. Click yes and on the blue window type rstrui. It will start the system restore. Please chose the date and try to restore the computer to an earlier date on which it was working fine.
