Battery Indicator light blinks while plugged in (PT15-51s-70TP )

I have a month old PT15-51s-70TP and the as of recently I hear a beep and and then my battery light blinks orange. This is while plugged in. Once that happens it stops charging. I have occasionally heard two beeps when this has happened as well. I have to unplug the AC adapter and plug it back in and then it charges properly again.

I have tried unplugging the battery and with the AC adapter out as well.

Any idea what is the cause of this and how to fix it?

    Hi @Cem367,

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option battery.
    4. Under the title battery.
Update Battery Drivers in Windows EASILY - Driver Easy
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update all driver under the title battery.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

I tried to update both and it says they are both the latest driver. The Microsoft AC Adapter is dated from 2006.

I would first recommend you to perform a battery reset and test Acer Internal Battery Reset - Acer Community

If the above steps does not work then, I would recommend you to keep the charger connected and try uninstalling Adapter drivers. After this power off the device and while booting tap F2 to access BIOS.

Here press F9 and hit enter to set the BIOS to defaults and then press F10 to save the configuration and restart the unit.

I hope the above steps would resolve the issue..

    Keep us posted..

Ok, so I did some testing and after some trial and error following steps above it appears it was a ram issue. I'm not exactly sure how maybe someone can confirm I'm correct. I had 32GB of hyper X installed and after removing that ram and installing the original Kingston 16gb that came with the laptop the issues when I pick up the laptop and move it around (say if I'm using it on my lap) seem to have gone away. It was even the simpilest movement would cause the battery light to flash and have an audible beep. This would happen a couple times in a row where it would blink and then beep. After a third time the power and LED light would both blink and I would need to reconnect the AC adapter.

Is this behavior sound correct for bad ram/non compatible ram?

Is there a preferred ram for PT516-51s-70TP?
