What is the battery reset button for? aspire R14 R3-471t-59UL.

User guide pretty vague.
I have an old aspire R14 R3-471t-59UL.

    Hi @cargoman23,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Unplug the charger. 
    3. At the bottom there will be a tiny pin hole with battery sign close to it take a pin or paper clip and insert into it hold that button for 20-30 seconds. Then turn ON the unit and check.

    It  drains all residual electrical charges left mainboard and in RAM after Windows is shut down. This is sometimes important if Windows is in fast boot mode. This is where some boot files are left in RAM after the Windows is shut down but they become corrupted. So the next time you turn the machine on, it won't boot. If you press the button in the reset pinhole, the corrupted files are erased from RAM and fresh uncorrupted copies are then reinstalled from  boot disk.
