I have a sticker showing M.2 SATA With Dual M.2 Support + One HDD slot on my laptop, as shown in the image below.

When I opened my laptop and looked at the empty slot it showed PCle as shown in the image

So My question is which SSD will fit in my laptop? as per the image on the laptop, I thought I can only use M.2 SATA SSD but by searching through the internet I found some saying it has one slot for M.2 NVMe PCLE and another slot for both M.2 NVMe PCLE and M.2 SATA it got me all confused.

So someone can explain to me what does the pin diagram in the image meant so I can buy NVMe SSD or M.2 SATA SSD

I am trying to make it simple for you..

You can always install a hdd and ssd on the computer.    Both are used for storage.     You can use it to install operating system and use it to store pictures , music and documents..   You can install programs and applications on this device.   Both are called storage device.

Hdd will be like toshiba, seagate, comes in capacity of 1 tb, 2 tb.   It is bigger in size like a palm size .   It uses the old technology.   It uses tracks , sectors and cylinders.    It is slow.

Ssd is again used for storage but it comes with capacity like 128 gb, 256 gb , 512 gb.    It is more faster, costlier when compared to the old sata or ide hdd.     You can install it in m1 or m2 slots.   It looks like a bigger memory sticks.

I know what is HDD and SSD are and my question is not regarding that,

my question was what is dual m.2 support? and I got confused by the SSD pin configuration image in my laptop and I thought both SSD slots support only M.2 SATA SSD but I got my answer

    Answer :

Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-54) has 3 hard disk slots one for HDD and two for SSD(dual M.2 Support Means laptop have 2 slots supports M.2 SSD)
and one of the SSD slots supports M.2 NVMe and M.2 SATA SSD(NVMe and M.2 SATA are different types of SSD ) and another slot purely for M.2 NVMe SSD

Now next I want to know will version 4 SSD(gen 4) will support on Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-54)?
