Tc-895 psu replacment, power button non functional

Greetings wise sages,

I've been working on installing a corsair 650w type 4 psu (pinouts here: /r/PCSleeving/comments/eoom3t/corsair_psu_type_4_pinout_diagram_dark_mode/ ) in an Aspire tc-895. This desktop has a atx12vo psu as standard, but i figured with some soddering that i could supply the right connections to get it to work (corsair also sells an adapter cable for 650w psu's to fit atx12vo connectioncs but the connections in that cable dont line up with what this desktop requires).

Ive wired the appropriate conections as they appeared in some pinout diagrams i found on these forums, and checked them against the original psu using a multimeter.

Despite trying to pair the P-on with a ground, "P-ok" and no cable at all (the configuration of the original psu) ive not been able to get the cpu to start with the power switch. Ive confirmed the motherboard is still good with the original psu, and that my new corsair psu is still good. Ive also been able to get the psu to turn on and power the machine by shorting p-on.

Any ideas as to what could be going wrong? Anything at all helps.

I answered you on the other thread. You need to verify the power switch is working and connected to the right pins on the MB.
