Turned out great until now, when I restarted to apply the google update.

After the update, I see the screen with the google logo and "chrome" briefly, then, at that point a dark screen, then, at that point a glimmer of a white screen briefly, then, at that point dark once more. In the event that I press the up button, it will show the login screen, cycles to the screens recorded previously.

I took a stab at depleting the battery, power restart, and utilizing one more screen through HDMI. No karma. As it would turn out, this happened seven days past the finish of item support.

Thanks.

    Try this.

    (1) Press & hold power button till completely off with no lit LEDs
    (2) Unplug charger and anything attached to ports.
    (3) Press & hold reload key+power key for 60 seconds
    (4) Plug charger back in. Wait for battery charge LED to turn from steady orange to steady blue
    (5) Try to turn it on again

Unplug all the cables from chromebook. Hold the power button for 2 mins. Plug the power cable. Turn on the computer.

If you are able to see the login screen. Try to login to computer.

Try to do a chrome reset on your chromebook

    open chrome

click on three dots on top right corner

    click on settings

Scroll down - go to advanced

click on restore setting to default

you will see reset settings - cancel

    click on reset settings

Close the chrome and open it It should work fine..

If it is still not working..

We need to do a power wash on your chrome book.

    Restart the chromebook.

On the login screen please don’t type the password.

Hold the Ctrl key + shift key + alt key on keyboard and then press the letter r once

It will show “Reset this pc”

Click on power wash and continue..

Please understand it will clear the local and user settings..

    Please complete the final setup..

Connnect to wifi and type the wifi password

Login to chromebook with your regular password

    It should work fine ..

If you are not able to get into login screen, please follow the steps given below:

Kindly follow the details from the link given below.  It will show you how to perform a hard reset.

Once the hard reset is completed try to check whether it is working fine by connecting to wireless.   If it is not connecting to a wifi at your home please try to connect to a wifi in a different place or try to go to a hot spot and try to connect to a different wifi and check.

This thread is over a year old. Probably get better responses if you post your own new thread by clicking on the green ask a question button.

A factory reset erases all user data on your Chromebook's hard drive, including all the files in the Downloads folder. It also erases most non-user-related device information, but preserves a few diagnostic and operational pieces of data.
