Go to the elevated command prompt.  Enter 'powercfg /batteryreport'. Then return to the desktop. Open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. Post screenshot of the first part of the report if possible that compares design full charge capacity with its remaining full charge capacity. Jack E/NJ

    1) Search Windows start menu for cmd
    2) At right select run as adminstrator
    3) Select OK
    4) In the big black box that pops up with the blinking cursor enter  'powercfg  /batteryreport'.
    5) Then enter 'exit' at blinking cursor to return to the desktop

Then open file explorer. Then search for' battery-report.html' in the c:\windows\system32\ sub-folder. Double-click to open it in the browser. If you're absolutely sure you're run the cmd as an administrator, then the battery pack's internal charge controller has likely failed. You then need a new battery pack. About $35USD if the machine is no longer under warranty. Google keywords a315-21 battery for vendors who ship to your location. Jack E/NJ

Try this before  purchasing battery. Open Device Manager. Click on batteries folder. Right click and uninstall all driver that you find. Exit Device Manager without reinstalling anything. Then open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do in left pane'. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable'. Scroll down and uncheck the box for fast startup if not already unchecked. Shut down Windows normally. Turn machine back on and let Windows automatically redetect battery, charger etc and install drivers. Then shut Windows down normally again. Wait for battery charge LED to turn from steady orange to steady blue. Then turn it back on again. Test battery operation by unplugging charger.
