Acer Nitro5 high CPU temp - unable to fix

Hi everyone,
I bought on a local store an acer nitro 5 with GTX 1050 and CPU intel i5 8300h. While gaming (tried with Valorant, Monster hunter world and heroes of the storm) i reach, right after 5 min I am in game, around 98° on CPU.
Went back to the store, the pc had 2 problems: Mouse trackpad was broken and the CPU temperature was too high. They sent back to acer and they only fixed the trackpad. CPU temp problem still there.
Went back to the store a second time, they suggested me to use MSI Afterburner and downclock. Then I decided to reach out a computer technician which did a few tests on the pc and told me it was not normal (and MSI afterburner was totally useless since it targets only GPU), I still have all the file he made.
Went back to the store for the third time, they sent to acer another time. After another month, PC came back and they just cleaned up the fans, uptated Bios and wrote that the pc is fine.
The problem is not fixed, I still have very high temp while gaming. Some more info: I use a coolpad, coolbost is active, nitro sense set on high performance and max fan speed (while gaming).

The question is: is that temperature normal? Is there a risk to damage component? Should I ask for a full refund ?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi bro, I had the same problem, and yes temps above 85C are bad for your laptop. I fixed it by changing my thermal paste to Arctic MX4 and cleaned out the air vents. And then my temps while gaming were around 55C (not even kidding). And i also upgraded my ram to 16GB at that time.

    Best Regards,

Nitro and predator products are engineered to withstand higher operating temperatures than traditional notebooks. These systems include features that help with cooling and heat dispersion. The CPU and GPU are designed to handle temperature spikes in excess of 98 degrees Celsius without causing damage to the components. It is common for PC temperatures to spike temporarily during heavy gaming or graphic usage. If the system encounters excessive temperatures that could damage the hardware, it will automatically shut down to protect the components from becoming damaged.

Thanks but, in this case, what is your advice to prevent thermal throttling?

Any references you can share just to be sure this is perfectly normal?
