Hi all,

I've got a brand new Nitro 5 (model AN515-55-54Q0) and noticed two components causing trouble almost immediately upon starting up the machine for the first time. The GoTrustID FIDO HID Device and Intel® Dynamic Tuning Processor Participant both display identical error messages in my device manager reading, "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)." I assume these devices aren't critical, but I'm getting periodic popup alerts about them, and I don't think a new machine fresh out of the box should have this kind of trouble.

Working with Acer's tech support staff, I've tried updating and reinstalling the drivers for these devices, resetting Windows, and even doing a clean reinstall of the O/S. Reinstalling Windows solved the problem temporarily, but it returned within a day or two. I assume that these are fixable problems, but Acer has told me that short of reinstalling Windows again and turning off all Windows updates (which seems like poor advice even to a neophyte like me), I should just deactivate the devices or live with the problem.

Has anyone else run into this issue? I'd appreciate any suggestions and am happy to provide other details from the devices' event log or otherwise. It's pretty frustrating to deal with this sort of problem on a brand new PC. Thanks for your help!
