I have had this laptop for a bit more than a year but never mentioned how hot it gets, and today while playing NFS my CPU temp been between 90-100 usually at 96-98 is it normal?  Predator PH517-51

It could very well be, high power parts inside of a small-ish body with little space for a proper cooling solution.

If you have never done it, I'd suggest you open the laptop to at least clean the fan(s) from accumulated dust and the heatsink. Ideally, you'd also replace the thermal paste that comes installed by default between the CPU, GPU and the cooling pipes with a high performance one.

While the cooling solution may not be ideal, a compound capable of conducting temperature in an efficient manner will keep the hot parts cooler for longer, allowing them also to perform better.

There are plenty of videos in YouTube where you can see the procedure being done in different machines, maybe even in yours as well. It would be your best option towards reducing those temperatures. Software means like undervolting with XTU or ThrottleStop may also help, but repasting is by far the measure that yields the better improvement.

AccordEuro06 its too high even for a oven like the i9-8950HK if you havent optimised your windows please do so and i would try to undervolt it with TS do not use the intel crapware as there arent any confs for it you would have to pick up one from the i7 or i5 and keep tweaking manually yourself check here also if you have never cleaned the fans and exit airflow maybe its time to do so and also repaste it with kryonaut if youre able without voiding your warranty otherwise contact acer support and send it back to get it cleaned and repasted with stock paste just bare in mind the safe temps should be 85'ish for cpu and 70/75 gpu max also of course avoid overclocking the cpu that will generate much more heat and you dont even need the extra clocks for gaming anyways i havent got a clue on what u use it for or the purpose to get a HK but if its just gaming and normal use any HK mobile cpu its a waste in my view i dont even know whats the purpose of intel releasing a HK cpu on any mobile platform as they run really hot on turbo boost or even worse if overclocked really bad idea and bad marketing from intel oh well after all its intel we cant expect much from them :p they already lost to the red team on desktops and with the ryzen 4000 mobile series it will be most probably their death sentence on the mobile too but thats only what i think of it any i7 and even some i5 can do the exact same job as an i9 and running much cooler anyway good luck :)

i already tried to  clean the fans/airflow next step would be thermal paste, i normally use this laptop to code in vscode :) and still the usual cpu temp with opened chrome/opera/vscode/skype is around 60-70 with auto fans is turned on, when i switch fans to max speed temp goes down to 50 but i reckon is still to much. The real disaster is when you open a game and play it for about 10-15 min the area under the arrows gets so hot i think i can cook an egg on it. Well i was planing to get predator i9, but i got a really nice deal from acer store in Sydney, laptop is still under warranty but im currently in Ukraine so there is no chance to get it fixed by Acer.
