CPU temperature increase while charging at 41%
Hi all, I do apologize upfront if this question has already been answered somewhere and I am asking same question again
so I got predator helios 300 (PH317-52) and I have an issue with temperature.
When gaming (e.g. Destiny 2) temperatures on AC hit 95-100C. On battery it stays around 60, but of course the gaming quality is not the same even at high performance. What I noticed is when battery is depleted i plug in the charger, I can enjoy good gaming quality, and CPU temperature rises slightly but stays around 60-70. However, whenever a specific battery threshold is passed, which is 41%, temperature goes nuts and there is a sharp increase to >90 almost immediately.
So I have 2 questions: (1) what can be wrong and how can it be solved? (2) if it can't be solved is there a way to keep battery at 40% without having to remove the charging cord ever so often?
here's some other info:
1. a month or so ago I cleaned the fans and changed CPU/GPU thermal paste
2. fans are running at full speed
3. I saw one screenshot from someone that you can control battery charge limit in acer care center. Unfortunately such option is not available for me on the app
