Anybody using a Nitro 5 lid-closed, vertically?

I'm looking into using a Nitro 5 as an HTPC that's capable of some gaming.

I would use it with the lid closed, as if it were a small desktop computer. I would stand it up vertically, with the back pointing up. I assume this would be optimal for cooling.

Does anybody else use the laptop in this way? Has anybody tried it? How well does it work?

I have some concerns:
1. With the lid closed, would heat build up and damage the keyboard or the screen or anything else?
2. With the lid closed, is cooling impacted negatively? Would the CPU or GPU throttle? Would the fans be noisy? I really want this setup to be silent when e.g. streaming Netflix.

Thanks in advance for any answers.
