Context: I just got my laptop back from acer care.

I had an error in device manager under my display adapters for the Radeon RX Vega 56 Series. It is now gone, however, when I attempt to re-install my 970 EVO Plus, the same old not working error pops up. If you can help me figure out where that problem might be that would be awesome.

On a separate note: I plugged the stock m.2 back in and attempted to update my drivers. I got the error from AMD Radeon Software Installer, "Error 182- AMD installer cannnot properly identify the amd graphics hardware. Thoughts?

system info -

OS - Windows 10 Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363
System model - Predator PH517-61

Let me know if you need any other info.

Thank you so much!

It was a verified GPU issue. They replaced the mainboard, battery, and thermal module. GPU is now recognized correctly. They checked the BIOS, tested the unit and reported it working properly. I think It works properly too, there might be a few hiccups here and there that I have experienced (like the gray static and a few freeze-frame videos) but otherwise, it's flying which makes me think it's not the hardware, idk.

I guess my real concern at this point is my 970 Evo Plus that I have sitting out right now. I don't want to plug it back in because what if, for whatever reason, that is the compatibility issue. I don't want to risk harming my hardware again until I know why my PCIE M.2 card would report Error 43. on my graphics but when I take it out and put default in, the graphics reports fully functional.

Would love someone who knows how that could possibly be to chime in.

Well that it's really odd do u have any chance of trying the evo in another device just for testing purposes also bare in mind that only one of the m.2 ports in the ryzen variant supports nvme the other it's sata only just in case you didn't knew check here https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/566930/m-2-slot-confusion-helios-500-ph517-61-rogx-ryzen#latest

I accidentally put it in the sata port first and tried to run. of course, it didn't recognize it. However, could that be why this all happened? I don't think I have another device to test it out, but I guess that would be the next best step. I was also trying to find out if there was another way to do a clean wipe of the 970. Perhaps I had installed bad drivers or something? IDK?
