I have an Acer predator helios 300 (2019), recently cleaned up the fans (after roughly 6 months of use, so I considered it was a good time) and now the temperatures are getting higher on regular tasks like browsing or photoshop (with a regulars 65-75°). The temps on games are mostly the same (just around 85-90°)
I cleaned up the fans with a small brush and some canned air and didn't touch anything unnecesary. I checked again to see if there was something stuck in the vents and nothing.

My Predator Helios 300 (2019) is just 2 months old, and the CPU temperatures are always at 92°C during gaming. This is very troublesome considering what Xapim says "Any temperature above 85 is not ok". This laptop has temperatures no where near what they say on reviews, which requires a solution.

gmlemas Mistahblue the only solutions available are optimizing windows properly undervolting even further check here and if till not sorted repasting with kryonaut or similar its the last and final solution is it can be done without voiding the warranty or send it back asap to get it repasted also keeping the back lifted 1/2" will help with better airflow and above 85 its not ok because it becomes really close to the thermal throttle values some start on 90 some lower even if its the same cpu it doesnt behave the same way its the silicone lottery

Well, regular temperatures have been more stable today (around 50-60) with regular tasks. Now, with max temps, I've tried further undervolt but must of the times crashes, the only save undervolt i have found is -0,135 and the change is mininal. I have a cooling pad that lift the equipment. The only thing that I haven't tried is changing the thermal paste, but I don't have much experience in that area. And I just checked the cores and yes, the #1 and #2 are drawing more power than the others (so more heat). I guess I can custom the fans to go full speed during play without overcloking the GPU so it doesn't draw much more power.

gmlemas welcome to win10 1909 lol well you can always downgrade (fresh install) if youre not happy with it to 1903 or even 1809 and repasting its easy (as i suppose you already opened it to clean the fans ?)  just get some kryonaut clean the heatsink and diodes properly with cotton buds and isopropyl alcohol from all the old paste leftovers and just use the spread method just a thin layer covering both diodes its more than enough you will notice it after a repaste my temps dropped down 25+ :)

Do change the thermal paste. It degrades over time.
If properly done, it should give you quite a difference, specially in idle mode (25-30C in idle, 15-20C in normal use).
Make sure you use enough, so contact will be proper. it is not sufficient to put a very thin layer like it was possible for old desktop CPUs.

EmperorBorg Well regarding the thermal paste applications (if its a good thermal paste) the spreading method its always the best and a thin layer covering both diodes its more than enough :) i applied kryonaut on mine 2 years ago and the temps are still the same as if it was applied today dropped 25+ after i applied it and did the same to a friends nitro 5 6/7 months ago temps are still fine so to me a thin layer its more than enough (if properly applied) too much thermal paste its bad and i had been applying thermal paste on laptops/desktops for years

Do you have any browser windows open while you're gaming? I noticed a considerable increase in temperatures when I have several (or many) tabs open in my browser with a game launched. I closed them all (Better OneTab is a convenient Chrome extension for that), and noted a 5-10 degree difference in-game.

Ok, I think I will try the thermal paste change, for what I have seen, removing the fans and heat pipes is not a complex task in this laptop, so I'm gonna try it. I been looking for a the thermal paste and I have found these 2 to be the most recomended: the Artic MX-4 and the Grizzly kryonaut, which one do you recomend me to use?

Be especially careful of leaving any p2p download ("t" word is masked by the forums) search engine tabs open; popular ones are known to have background distributed cryptomining activity using your device.
