Acer Predator G9-791 overheating at idle after reset

Hi,

I recently reset my Acer Predator G9-791 laptop (4 years old) and ever since then it has been overheating terribly when it's idle or when I'm doing basic things like browsing the internet or watching a movie. Predator Sense shows these temperatures: CPU: 70-90°C and System: 55-65°C. Before the reset I'd never had this problem. The laptop would only get this hot while gaming; when I only had an internet browser opened, it would be cool and the fans silent (now they're noisy, running almost at full speed constantly). I haven't really installed any apps since the reset (other then the browser, VLC, Avast and Steam), haven't changed any settings. I tried resetting the laptop again, the problem still continues.

If anyone has an idea why this could be happening / how the problem could be fixed, I would be grateful for any advice.

By reset I'm assuming you did like a factory software reset yes? 

How long did it sit before you reset it? Perhaps the thermal paste has dried up and needs to be re-pasted. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Lorean11 as it was said above reset? how what did you do also have you reset the bios setup to defaults for a stock recovery clean install check here  if after a clean install you still have thermal issues i suggest you to optimize windows undervolt see here  and last resort repaste it with kryonaut or similar and clean the fans/exit airflow while doing so and bare in mind to keep the back of the laptop lifted 1/2 inches for a better airflow

How long ago did you reset? Are you sure it is not downloading any updates or such when it is idle?
