Hi, everyone, I really need some help. I bought this very expensive laptop recently, and I have to say, I feel like its performing worse than my laptop from last year, which was an Acer Predator Helios 500 with GTX 1070 and i7 8750H (or whatever it was called). The Helios doesnt seem to be able to keep consistent framerates, like in Battlefield V it often stays at around 60-80 when it probably should be a lot highe, and its not stable at all. It's brand new, and I'm kinda dissapointed thinking that the 2070 card and the new processor would really show me a big performance boost. The laptop also gets very loud very quick, faster than the HeliosI had last year. Any tips or help?

helmersen the new 2019 h300 fan curve is set to be on high rpm unless you drop the temps way under 39 which you would never achieve so nothing you could do here also the loudness its part of the 4th gen aeroblade fans the old delta plastic fans noise its much less  regarding the fps performance how are your temps and have you optimized your windows and undervolted it even more (if its pre undervolted already) if not undervolt it and not always whats new its better is your 2070 max-q or max-p ?

Hello! So are these newer fans better even though they make so much more noise? Also, I have the latest version of windows, but I dont know if its undervolted, I asked the company I bought it from and the support guy said undervolting might mess with warranty stuff. Anyway, I have 2070 Max Q.

helmersen undervolting will not void any warranty in this world :) check here  if youre interested and yes the 4th gen aeroblades owl wing tip are more effective but much more noisy even at the same rpms as the plastic delta as i stated above if you can yourself repaste it or ask them to repaste it properly  and if possible  using the thermal past you want that you would buy as i previously said kryonaut its the best or similar if im not mistaken only the 1660ti come pre undervolted by acer on stock also in my view the H500 you had its much superior that the 2070 max q that you have now

So you’re saying my last laptop was better? How so? It is what I am fearing though, I am just wondering why.

run cinebench r15 and check that you have around 1250 score
then run prime95 test for 12 threads and check that your cpu temp is around 75C
then run furmark + prime test and check your temps, in this case I think you will need coolboost enabled
