I am upgrading an old Aspire 5732Z laptop.
I have already replaced the 250GB HDD with a 500GB Samsung SDD and updated the OS from Win 7 to Win 10.
That has already improved the startup time significantly.

Now I want to increase the RAM from 3GB to the maximum 4GB.
It currently has a 1333MHz M471B5673FH0-CH9 2GB Module and a 1066MHz M471B2873EH1-CF8 1GB Module (both Samsung).
The 2GB Module uses PC3-10700 667MHz devices, the 1GB Module uses PC3-8500F 533MHz devices.
i.e. the two modules have different speed specifications.
This seems rather strange, but it's been that way since the laptop was first purchased.

My questions are...

In the existing configuration, is the RAM speed performance throttled by the 1066MHz 1GB Module?
If I replace the 1GB Module with a second 1333MHz M471B5673FH0-CH9 2GB Module, will I get better performance?
I assume if I replace the 1GB Module with a 1066MHz 2GB Module such as a Samsung M471B567EH1-CF8, the performance will be the same as before.
