After Nvidia driver update 436.36 something feels off

Acer Helios 300
Model PH315-52-78VL

I recently got this laptop a few days ago it was working flawlessly without updating the gpu drivers from Geforce Experience. I installed the new driver 436.36 today 9/11/19 and my predator sense did not show gpu temps(gpu on idle) but it did show continuously before the updated driver.

For some funny reason it does show gpu temps when I open up geforce experience, but when I close the app it says my gpu is on idle. I used the search bar and found some people having the same issue, but the putting the laptop in sleep and starting it back up did not work for me and I always have hibernation off. I even tried turning off the fast startup feature but that didnt work either.

The predator sense does show temps when I do play a game, Monster Hunter World at the lowest settings to be exact, but when I bring up the task manager and check my gpu, the Intel integrated graphics are working harder than my gtx 1660ti. I think the intel integrated graphics were working at 24% while my 1660ti was working at 4-6%. I am not sure if that is normal.

I am not finding any answers, but wanted some input before I do a full reset.
Please let me know if this has happened to you for the new driver.
Thanks again

peezy253 make sure you are running the games on the DGPU and not on the IGPU check nvcp and set it up manually per game if needed also any reason why you updated the driver were you having issues with the previous one if not roll back to the previous version you sould not be using the latest as thy are always full of bugs always use previous ones i myself still on 416.96 and if it werent because i was forced to upgrade from acer stock driver to support latest games i would still be on stock because the stock are always the best custom drivers :)

You can also log off user and log back in open PS right after or close all PS services completely on task manager and run PS as admin and you can check these threads:

Hey thanks for the reply. How do i roll back to the last gpu driver? Do you think the driver is the issue for predator sense?

Hey thanks for your help. I decided to do the factory reset instead. I didnt do a lot to the pc so it didnt matter to me. Seems to work fine now, but i did get a bsod code: 0xc000021a when I tried to restore my laptop to a specific time. It went to bsod right after I started it up. I freaked out and just did a factory reset. This is my first laptop, hopefully doing all of this didnt affect my laptop in any type of way. In NVCP i put my preferred graphics processor as High performance nvidia processor, before it was on auto. Also, I am not going to update my drivers. When is it a good time to update gpu drivers? I also uninstalled the predator sense that came with the laptop and installed the newer version on acer's website just incase.

peezy253 usually factory stock reset (clean install) fixes all software issues if any issue persists after a stock recovery i would point to hardware failure :)
