  • to know which model may have come from the factory, you have to inform the exact model! Example g3-571-77qk! However, since you already uploaded a photo, this is a hynix ssd!

So I ordered the m.2 to sata enclosure yesterday, itll be here today. Couldnt find a cheap (under $10) nvme to sata enclosure so ill use the original ssd in the enclosure and new one installed in slot in machine and try the cloning that way with samsung tool I downloaded. Give updates tonight!  Fingers crossed!!

Oh on a side note wasnt able to find nvme to sataIII enclosure, spoke with a guy over at startech and he said they dont make them because sataIII is not fast enough only usb3.1 will work.  Such is my plugable enclosure- nvme to usb3.1(tpye c).  Didnt know that. I guess if i could do this all over again i would just buy ngff type B or M or BM m.2 sata ssd and straight up put it in slot in machine. Maybe this thread can be help to those wishing to do what I wanted to do, but couldnt/ Live and learn...

on amazon search for m.2 to sata adapter.
    it is available for $9.99
    on aliexpress.com it is for $ 3

speed is not the issue as you will use that only to clone the samsung ssd, and not use it regularly.

Exactly u need an nvme adapter to be able to clone it properly and they are not cheap:) this is also one of the reasons i only advise to buy nvme if youre doing rendering works or really need it for work because for gaming theres no need for it 550mb speed more than enough for gaming :)

    Hi,
m.2 is the actual physical form factor. nvme is the protocol.

please clarify, you want to clone your existing factory 256gb ssd so your new 1TB samsung  sdd. and then use that new samsung ssd as boot / system drive ssd, by replacing it with the original ssd.

    is that correct ?
