    as far as I can tell, there is no bios update on my model.

    Also. Someone said disabling HPET in the bios could solve the issue but there is no option for that, Acer bios is very locked down

    there does not seam to be a bios upgrade for my model. Someone said disable HPET in bios but there is no setting for that. Acer bios is very locked down

  • Have you tried to reset the battery to see if it solves the problem? I'm not sure if the firmware upgrade will solve the problem! Are you using version 1809 or 1903 of windows 10?

  • Resetting the battery usually solves many problems on the notebook! I recommend you try this procedure. To know the version of windows, check here:

    correct me if Im wrong but does't resetting the battery just reset BIOS to its default values? Since I have already reset bios to defaults, from within it, I don't see what resetting battery would achieve.

Some questions: When you restored your notebook by pressing alt + f10 before the Acer logo, did the problem with the audio remain? Has this problem always existed since the purchase of the notebook? Does the problem only occur on the battery or when you plug the notebook into the power adapter? Is the notebook configured for high performance power options?

  • have you checked if disabling fast startup in windows power options, if it solves the problem?

    you said earlier that you had BIOS 1.05, the correct updated BIOS for your model is 1.11, check it out on your models support page link below

  • Yes, it may be a problem in the hardware, but it can also be a problem in bios, so much so that Acer has released some fixes for the realtek through the bios for other models. That's why I think you should try updating the bios, even if the changelog does not report anything about the audio. I recommend that you also try to restore the internal lithium battery. Do these procedures and post the result here!

    This is the page the BIOS update comes from, you said earlier that you had BIOS 1.05, the correct updated BIOS for your model is 1.11 and regardless of the listed BIOS fixes updating the BIOS may fix the problem, check it out on your models support page link below

    updated bios, did battery reset, sorry to report no change.  SO it is a hardware issue, so question is now how do I fix it
