Sakiko>>>It seems like i got some kind of region problem here?. here's what my router have: 36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, 161 at either 20, 40, or 80MHz. Is there some kind of region lock on wireless module? or it's the BIOS? or what?. if there's region lock, my Japan region phone shouldn't be able to connect at ch149, right?>>>

Probably few if any of us in this user community know much about laptop connection speed limits in your region. Especially relative to what your phone seems to get. So I have no clue on what speed your new laptop card should get based what your phone seems to get on the same network connection & plan. What does FirstMedia have to say about this if anything?. The router was provided by myself as it's much better than my ISP's modem + router combo (they only support N 2.4). Well, seems like i should let it be until i could buy a better router

FirstMedia may still have an explanation on why your phone seems faster on their network. They should already have detected it's not their router. Jack E/NJ
