So I've been to around ~11 threads and other websites/videos trying to explain how to fix this and it's still not working. Predator sense would just open and then go away. Afterwards I can't open or use it as it only showed the loading screen. Earlier today I got it to the point where it would go on an open loop. This is what I've tried so far.

  • Running with administrator.
  • Running with Win 8 compatibility mode
  • Uninstalling with IObit
  • Reinstalling latest version
  • Running latest version
  • Closing from task manager and running in compatibility mode
Basically doing that for multiple versions.

I've tried running it directly from the windows store as well. http://prntscr.com/ms631h ( Although, this is an unsupported version my computer can't run so of course it wouldn't work ;p )

My windows & graphics cards are updated too. This issue has been going on for at least 6 months.

I've tried running every one of the exe's as well.

Tried changing this to that of another computer model - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5FFCug83Ko

I've reset my battery ( battery in pinhole ).

If anyone has any solutions it'd really be appreciated. It's been pretty frustrating trying to fix this. If possible I really don't want to re-install windows. I know I won't lose my files, although if I'm thinking right then it will uninstall my programs. I have tons of programs installed on my computer (40+ - Don't worry they're not all opening on startup. ) and really don't want to go through the hassle of installing them again. If I have to, I have to I guess.

Thanks!

( Also if anyone knows a solution for the issue below this that'd be great too although if not I'll probably just make another thread. )

Pc used to be able to run Overwatch at 200 fps medium settings, while recording in hd. Now it runs overwatch at 30-70 fps low settings w/o obs recording. Has troubles running beatsaber. Every game I throw at it, it can't run well. I'm thinking this is linked to cooling though.
Here's some background info.

  • I have updated drivers
  • Games are running from my 1060 card
  • Windows is updated
  • Power settings are set to not throttle
  • This started happening 6+ months ago. Can't remember.
  • Benchmark values are pretty low compared to computer of the same model.
  • Vsync and triple frame rendering/buffering ( can't remember the exact word ) are both set to off in Nvidia settings.
  • Have tried this with no other programs running. Problem still happens.
  • Computer is plugged in.
  • Game DVR is disabled.
  • NVIDIA shadowplay is disabled

After weeks of trying I finally fixed my problem ( somehow ). Here's what I did.

I reinstalled, deleted prefetch, installed argus monitor, speedfan, intel extreme tuning, and msi afterburner. Stopped predator sense, put into compatibility mode again. Ran it. It worked.

I've got no idea what fixed it or how although if anyone is reading this thread in the future and all of the troubleshooting tips didn't work, try that.

-0.115 V <--- I also undervolted in intel extreme tuning to this value. For core voltage offset.

Bump, as I'm also having this problem. Off topic but my predator G3-517 struggles to maintain 60 fps on overwatch/apex legends no matter the settings. I tried doing the throttlestop stuff but it blue screens everytime i start to play a game. Curious as to how you got it to go that high.

I had the exact same problem as you and it really sucked. Could barely play any video games. There may be more at hand than just this although when I fixed predator sense ow and apex started running perfectly. Most likely throttling. I tried throttlestop before I fixed my fan problem as well and it didn't help. Try doing what I listed and see if that works. If not I feel sorry for you as I've had that problem for the longest time :II

TL:DR Had same problem. FPS drops are caused mainly by overheating. Try what I did to get predator sense working.

    It actually did.
PS sense doesn't open. - Low frames. Horrible performance.
    PS opens. - Great frames.

Obviously having PS open and raising my fan speeds lowered my cpu/gpu temp and in-turn there's no throttling occurring.

"Most likely throttling... FPS drops are caused mainly by overheating."
"check your temps you might be thermal throttling"

I appreciate the help although you've told me what I already said.

What are your temps while playing (good acceptable temps are cpu 75/85 gpu 65/75 higher than this might start to throttling its the silicone lottery) and are u playing on battery or on A/C if you are throttling the solution is optimize windows/undervolt and if nothing changes repaste its the next step but contact your seller/shop/acer suppor about warranty breach by repasting it yourself

    ??

I had said I already fixed my computer and my temps were fine.

    " there's no throttling occurring. "
    "
    I finally fixed my problem"
