Sorry. This is a long thread. I'm having difficulty keeping track of which laptop model and BIOS firmware version we're talking about right now. Are we talking about the subject title SF314-51 or the related SF314-52 model? And do you have possession of it now so we can try some things? Jack E/NJ

No, the replacement (new one) is the SF314-52 (that has/had the issue). But they replaced it with another laptop because of this issue (so I don't have the SF314-52 anymore). Before bringing the laptop back to the shop the bios firmware was already updated at the latest version (factory-installed), so it never needed an update.

So if you don't have the original SF314-51 or the replacement SF314-52, what laptop model do you have now? Jack E/NJ

They took the SF314-52 and asked me to choose a new one from the shop at the same price. In reality there was only one laptop at the same price of my old one (the others were cheaper or more expensive). At the end I took a new one from a different brand.

So I guess we'll never know how to solve the issue since we don't have a machine with the issue anymore. At least in this thread.  :s   Jack E/NJ

    Yep. Unfortunately we'll never know.

Battery not charging on an Acer Swift 3. Battery level is 0% after several hours of charging.

    What to do?

Open Device Manager. Uninstall all the drivers in the batteries folder. Re-boot with the laptop plugged in. Unplug charger. If the laptop stays for more than a few minutes unplugged, then uninstall the the battery drivers again. Re-boot with the laptop plugged in again. You may have to repeat sequence a few times if the battery is still functional.
