Hi, I ask info for my problem, I have an acer extensa 5210 recently updated, from a celeron m520, a t7200 dual core, now I would go from 2 GB to 4GB RAM. the acer manual says it's fine, some ram sites say it supports a maximum of 2 GB, so I look for my chipset which is i943 / 940gml and I find it does not support 4gb. but trying aida64, HWINFO, and siw tell me that support 4gb, confused, I tried to install 4gb ram but the screen remains black, while 1 bench only 2 GB works perfectly, could you help me? Is there anyone who did it? Can it be a compatibility problem / brand of ram? I installed Windows 10 64 bit. Thank you all

Crucial says only 2GB m8, I guess it is only 2GB device.

A black screen usually won't happen unless the RAM module is faulty or frequency rating is lower than specifications. If the BIOS only supports 2GB it should still see 2GB even if 4GB is installed. I suggest that you download the crucial dot com scanner to determine your particular system configuration and ugrade capabilities. Jack E/NJ

Hi guys, it seems strange to me that the notebook does not start, should still start and detect only 2 gb, I want to do another test, I know it may seem absurd, but I intend to try two banks of ram ddr2 800mhz, you who do you think?

If it were mine, I'd probably try the pair to see if the BIOS accepts them. My only concern would be if the voltage spec on the 800MHz modules are too low (less than 1.5v), they may draw too much current from the mainboard source designed for 1.8v 667MHz modules. Jack E/NJ
