    Hi,

Please try a power reset, this process will temporarily disconnect and then reconnect the internal battery.

Unplug AC power adapter. Locate the battery reset pinhole on the bottom of the computer.
Insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole. Hold the reset button for 4 seconds.
Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Connect the AC adapter and power on the system.

I run a Facebook group for the Helios with currently 1200+ members and this issue has come up a couple times.

The fix ended up being doing the battery reset method twice back to back. (For some reason once didn't work)

Let me know if it fixes if not I'll ask the group what they think.

    Hi Aditya,
I have the same issue and its very irritating . Ask acer care agents to run ADS and winstress like tools to find the issue. Mine is still persisting even after using those tools but dont worry Iam going to care centre tomorrow and will update the same.

    Hi,
Go to last page of this thread and read the post by Maze, there are some useful information in there about a micro switch which disconnects the battery when the RAM door is removed.

Finally i have the solution to this , just goto acer care centre and ask them to check the sensor near ram and the rubber ,these were the two things mentioned by the technician unprecisely. My problem is resolved 100% correctly as its been four days now.or contact me chandi.iq1331@gmail.com.

I have a Predator 17X GX-792. It's about 1 year old, the battery reads 100% and I've had no issue until today. When the AC plug was disconnected it would immediately die despite the battery showing good. The fix was/is as akki998 above has stated, it is the switch located next to the RAM modules. On mine it is a small silver box with a black actuator on top that depresses when pushed (you can feel this with your finger). There is a post on the removable cover that is hollow and apparently the rubber piece had fallen out so nothing depresses the actuator it just goes up inside the hollow post. I just filled in the hollow post with paper to make it solid inside and this was enough to get it working. Hope this helps someone else, maybe save the repair bill/parts.
