My Acer w500 has had the anoying cursor jumping that others have had.  I found a fix on the Acer website and completed all of the steps.

After the firmware update, the screen is no longer jumping BUT I cannot use the touch screen.  There have been mentions of this same problem in other messages I've read, but I cannot find an answer to get the touch screen back. Most replies (such as the link below) say to contact support.  However, I am outside my warranty.

I have the recovery disks but was hoping that maybe I am just missing something simple.  Any help would be appreciated!

Same sitation here.  Any one know of a resolution?

Unit out of warantee- so only Acer support option is their paid service.

I have recovery discs- will they re-write the firmware update that caused this issue.

Re-installing the BIOS didn't help- it seems to clearly be the Touch Panel Firmware 1007.2005 that caused there to now be NO touch panel.

    Thanks!

Are there still no solution to this?
