yes but as updates came, the problem ocassionally came back too as I had to keep hardware acceleration off all time, also some alt-tab and resizing triggered the issue, I didn't see the MPO issue until I got casually in ths reddit then I knew it was a thing for N-vidia cards too
-
direct link to disable MPO…

new discovery, seems that MPO setting has to do a lot, specifically with Radeon 6000 series which had issues with grey screens and timeouts too, I tried this workaround (it's Nvidia but same issue anyway), disabling MPO with mpo_disable.reg and restarting windows, reenabled hardware acceleration everywhere, I left a twitch…

this driver seemed worked well, as it came the 22.10.3 and 22.11.1 the problem temporally came back, and more when I wanted to watch Disney+ with the microsoft shop app, it garbled when laptop came from a suspend and tried to play any episode or movie, I quitted using it. now the version 22.11.2 became Recommended and it's…

been using the amd ones (because Substance Painter detected OEM ones too old) Oh after a long wait, the solution finally came: this is a WHQL optional, no more driver timeouts so far, though I had to do a clean manual Windows 11 installation because a hacker caught me offguard and messed with my accounts

Fiddle with acer harmony settings in the Realtek sound panel or get the Dolby atmos, it improved my sound breaking the limiters

Newest bios v1.12 released at 2022/09/14, let’s try this one to see
-
I found a way to read that info from bios unlocking the hidden menus and the results for my aspire 5 are: Original bios 1.08:CezannePI-FP6 1.0.0.1 Updated bios 1.10: CezannePI-FP6 1.0.0.1 1.10 from 2022/03/01 It's sad ACER is not putting any effort in fixing that issue, it's a clue where are my problems coming from

Another update: Replaced the 8G ram module (Micron) by a Crucial 16GB single rank, tested with 22.6.1 and it gave a 141 event error (just some seconds of flickering), then I reverted to the recommended 22.5.1 and it's working normally so far, stable and no errors, firmware is still in 1.08 and chipset in 4.06.10.151
-
excuse me but Acer sorta have some issues recognizing the ram modules the first time, especially in my model which have soldered ram (honestly the worst idea because we are restricted to 20GB, when we could have 32 GB ram even if there was a only socket for it), well the first time I installed a 8 GB Micron to get working…

This bios brought more issues than benefits, my laptop began to have issues with hot adaptor, longer charge times, video timeout errors, in general I suspect laptop began to demand more energy than needed, avoid this bios as possible, Acer and Windows must dismiss this version for good
-
"Downgrading the BIOS will do nothing as you could do more damage than fix anything, check your fans that might need replacing and the CPU/GPU need also repasting with a good high quality paste as that laptop is getting on in years and components wear out and need maintenance." that's not completely true, in my case my…

there's a big update: everything was working as intended but a recent Windows update made it mess everything, until the point none of the video drivers worked correctly, I researched for alternatives and decided to go by hardware, someone said the problem was caused by a incompatible ram module, so I tested that idea…
-
And here is where I have a question, mine is a R6HW R3 5300U with 4 GB soldered ram, I found crucial memories but there are single and dual rank, which one I should choose?
-
are they with AMD processor?

Another update: sadly the 22.1.2 failed after a intensive test, so I had to investigate around then a latin guy in Youtube gave a solution: the latest stable driver is the 21.10.2 which is the second WHQL released for Windows 11, also I pondered about other brands using the same apu as mine and they point around this…

Issue kept coming sporadically using the AMD Display driver version 22.5.1, updated to 22.5.2 and got worse, after researching and testing drivers the one which is stable is the version 22.1.2 which is the last but one WHQL, from 22.2.1 the problem arises, and it seems related with a flickering problem in some video card…
