your device manager doesn't show biometric devices. there should be a synaptics device there. there is no unknown device either. your sensor is totally offline. it is not a driver issue. that 99% looks like hardware problem to me, sorry. If I had to guess, it is either the GPU chip needs reflowing and re-pasting or the LCD connector is loose and needs re-seating.

I'm 99% sure that it has M.2 SATA SSD like its predecessor, Switch Alpha 12, and is upgradeable. RAM is soldered of course.

The model you are referring to is a completely different one, it is a detachable 2-in-1 for a start, where mine is a tablet. It might still be a pry-apart model of course, but I couldn't verify it.

I updated mine to Pro on Day 1 and don't have any issues.

SW512-52 is for Switch 5 (the model I have). SW312-31-P4G1 is for Switch 3. I assumed it would be similar to open these up, but of course instructions for Switch 5 is more appreciated if possible.

what is the specific problem you are having with the stock one?

Any similar instructions for Switch 3 or 5 hopefully? The chassis looks similar but I couldn't see the screw at the hinge.
