Configuring the Smart Card Reader in your Acer System

How do I set up my smart card reader to read my debit or credit card?

Some Acer systems include a Smart Card Reader that allows you to insert an ATM or Credit Card to make online payments. This feature requires an additional software download from your banking institution. You may need to contact your bank to verify that they support this feature.

Use the following steps to configure your Smart Card Reader:

Insert your card with the magnetic stripe up as shown in the image below.
You may be prompted to download additional driver software. This will allow communication between the card reader and your banking institution. This may not be required for all cards.
Log in to your bank web site for WebATM and install the component package for your bank. We are using Standard Chartered Bank (https://www.sc.com/tw/eatm/) for this example.
Restart your web browser. Your smart card should now be recognized.
