Aspire Active Stylus V (NP.STY1A.005)

I saw the Aspire Active Stylus V (Part# NP.STY1A.005) in the Acer store and wanted to buy it to use with the Acer R13 (R7-372T-77LE) laptop, since the R7-372T is listed as compatibale for this stylus. I am wondering if anyone has this stylus or has more information than what is one the product page.

Does it work well enough to take good handwritten notes?

Does the Active Stylus V have palm rejection (so that I can set my wrist on the screen while using the stylus)?

What technology does the Active Stylus V use, is it synaptics, N-trig or Wacom?

What is the difference between the Active Stylus V and the Active Stylus II (tech wise)?

It was confirmed in another thread on this forum that neither the old Acer Aspire Active Stylus (NPSTY1A002) or the Dell Active Stylus work for the new 2016 Acer Aspire R13 (R7-372T). This is why I am not sure that this new pen is a synaptic pen.

Is there someone at Acer you could ask about this and also whether or not there is palm rejection?

I tried calling+ online chatting with both the Acer store and tech support and neither had any information.

I would if I could,but I don't work for Acer. Most of us are volunteers doing our best to help Acer owners with computer problems. Someone from Acer will probably see this eventually and give you an answer.

I am in the process of buying an R7-372t and handing down my R7371t down to my daughter.

I have done some digging.

The 371 uses Primax/Synaptics ( I think)

The 372 used Elan (estylus)

I got my 372T today and it was a SKU that came with the stylus. Nice! I had also ordered the Lenovo miix 700 Active Pen as I found one for under $20.

I can confirm this Lenovo pen does Not work with the R7-372t system. Not even detected so even though both systems are from ELAN they are totally different. UGGG What mess the stylus systems are.

That pretty much says my guess that the newer Dell Active Pen abd HP Active Pen will not work as there has been some artist community testing that listed those as interchangable.

I can say I like the feel and sensitiivty of the Acer Stylus for this machine even batter than the Dell Active Stylis I have for the old 371T.
