Hi, I played AC Valhalla for 30mins and I noticed my SSD reached temps above 60 degrees (CrystalDisk) for short periods of time. Temps fluctuated from 50 - 66 degrees. It looks like fans are able to reduce SSD temp when it gets to 'a warning' level. CPU temps were below 80 degrees, GPU below 70 and system around 80 degrees.

Hi, Small amendment to the previous post. At the gaming session SSD temps were 45-46 degrees instead of 55-56.

Hi, I got my replacement laptop last week. I noticed that I have installed RAM modules and the SSD from the different manufacturer this time. Both are from Micron. SSD is Micron_3400_MTFDKBA1T0TFH 1024.2 GB (the other laptop had Samsung one). I believe I had a bad laptop at the first time as the replacement one has no…

Hi, As Soon as I get the replacement I will let you know. I'm hoping the new one will be free from issues.

Hi, What model do you have? What spec? Do you get BSOD in other scenarios apart from gaming?

Hi, The temperatures settle at the 48-57 degrees range when I work with Adobe Photoshop or Capture One or watch Netflix or other streaming services. I didn't have time to play games. I noticed that setting GPU fan at custom setting with min 2500 rpm helps. It is improvement but temps still are higher around 8-10 degrees…

Hi Jack, I used Acer restore option described in my Predator Helios manual. It basically cleaned the drive with all files and then reinstalled fresh Windows from the original Acer image file.

Hi Jack, Sure. Here are two screenshots: I use Eset Internet Security software. I've been use it for last 10 years on all my laptops work and home with no issues. Currently I have pretty simple setup on my Helios, just Adobe PS, Illustrator and Capture One apps. I haven installed any games or gaming platforms (GOG and…

Hi, I restored my Helios 300 to the factory defaults. I only connected one external HDD, mouse, keyboard and monitor. No cooling pad and second HDD. I watched 3 episodes of TV show and I got BSOD (Clock Watchdog Timeout error). That is pretty bad.

I have no idea. They are WD My passport drives 2.5" external. I didn't find this information on the manufacturer data sheet/website.

I have my laptop connected to a Coolermaster XL cooling pad (it also comes with a usb hub). In your case the problem was created because your cooling pad was connected to the laptop via USB and when you disconnected it all issues have gone. Am I right?

Hi, I was testing laptop with one external drive connected via USB this morning. Unfortunately I got BSOD and restart when I watched a YT video. The same error codes: DLOGFILE00010000DUMP 0 Dump stack initialized at UTC: 2022/10/02 10:10:01, local time: 2022/10/02 11:10:01. #BugCheckCode 0x0000000000000101 #BugCheckP1…

Hi, Both My Passport WD Hdds are only one month old as I replaced the old ones. They are in good health. I will keep one connected and see if that setup works. The other drive is for backup only. I cannot install it inside as it comes in a plastic enclosure.

Hi, Sorry I wasn't clear. I had the same WD 2TB models connected to my HP Omen laptop last two years and they worked great. I replaced them with new ones a month ago. I had them connected with the HP laptop for 2 weeks and the half before I moved to Helios 300. No issues. Now they were both connected to the new Predator…

Hi, I have already installed the Samsung Magician tool but for some reason my SDD is only partially supported. Device Health status is N/A, firmware update is not available. I have read that SAMSUNG MZVL21T0HCLR-00BT7 is an OEM variant of the 980 Pro but comes with limited support from the official software.

Hi, It is SAMSUNG MZVL21T0HCLR-00BT7 I also noticed high system temperatures when I played games. it reached 92 degrees after 20-25 mins of playing MK11.

Original: Hi, Did you get any fix for the high temperatures with your Samsung SSD drive? I'm experiencing similar problem on my Helios 300 ph315-54 with RTX 3070. Hi, I will keep my eyes on the drivers and bios updates. I disabled Ethernet LAN and I think it helped to reduce the system temperature to 60-62 degrees. My SSD temperatures now are 52-55 when I do everyday tasks. I saw some photos of the MB and I'm wondering if close location of a PCH chipset can increase the SDD temps?…
