@AnhEZ28 I see nothing in the user manual about replacing anything in the laptop. I don't even see anything there about opening the laptop case. Given this, will opening the laptop case void my warranty? Is the MT7902 user replaceable? If it is actually a chip on the board as opposed to a plugged in adapter of some sort…

@AnhEZ28 Do you have a developer contact at MediaTek to request driver development? The MT7903 is built into my A315-24PT as purchased. Can I replace it with an AX201? Without voiding my warranty? Can a Acer service center change it out for me without cost or voiding my warranty?

Perhaps there is yet…

I used the command: setkeycodes e01d 127 This sets the scancode for down on the "ctrl/menu" key to map the the "menu" keycode. Once I had this sorted out the hard part was figuring out which of the several mechanisms to run this during system…

Surely someone knows how to fix this problem. I need that menu key to use with Virtualbox as its host key.

As I noted in my original question, I DID set the BIOS Function key behavior to Function Key and that DID change the operation of the function keys F1-F10 as expected. It did NOT change the behavior of the "ctrl" "menu" key and I STILL have to hold the "fn" key to get the "menu" key. So I am hoping there is yet another…
