I re-installed Windows 8.1 from MS page - I have the Windows key stored. It is working. But I am not sure if I want to continue with 8.1. I never liked this version.

I will test it. If I can get all the application I need working I will keep Linux. If not I will try with Windows again

I was not familiar with any of them... Ubuntu could not connect to WiFi while Mint got connected without problems. That's why I installed the Mint with Cinnamon. I have more than 20GB available instead 6 GB with Windows 10.

I have ended up with Linux Mint installed. It is working and is bootable. I was able to install the most important drivers. I will keep it for a while. It is my first experience with Linux so I will use opportunity to test it. We you have recommended Ubuntu instead of Mint? What is the differance? I understand that Mint is…

Thanks. This computer ia total disaster. I have made a big mistake buying it. I had to reduce the power of processor to 95% to avoid the Blue Screen error. With Windows 8.1 there is almost no fre disk space after upgrades due to the restore partition. I thinking to throw it away an buy something with bigger storage.…

Thanks. I would like to install drivers first to get WiFi and mouse working. With touchpad the devise is almost useless and requires a lot of patience. If I find the USB drive with 8 I will re-install it.

Thanks. This laptop I use for holidays only. Problem is the internal storage 32 GB. I have read sowhere that there are Linux booting problems with this kind of "disk". I would prefere Windows 8.1 but it occupies almost entire drive (recovery partition). With Windows 10 I have ca. 8 GB available.

Thanks. What are you using heidoc.net for? How to get the Acer drivers for Linux? I have somwhere Acer Windows 8 recovery disk.

Thanks a lot. I hope it will work. I would be more than happy with Windows 8.1 if I could remove recovery partition. 1st trial failed. After 1st restart I got error message. I am trying again with clean installation

Guys, I installed Windows 10 more less year ago. This week I tried to upgrade Windows 10 to the Anniversary edition. It completly failed. Unfortunately, I have not created the Windows 10 image backup so I restored Windows 8.1. I tried everything but I cannot upgrade it to Windows 10 again. Any tips?

Finally I have installed clean Windows 10 Threshold 2 on my netbook. Now I need to install all drivers manually. Does anybody knows how to get Acer Care Centre installed after clean Windows 10 installation? I wonder if it helps with the blue screen error.....

I have the same issue. Reduction of the processor maximum power to 95% in the Power Managemnet options helps. However, I believe the netbook should returned to the retailer asap and replaced with another or money paid back. My retailer refused to pay me money back. They wanted to sent the netbook to Acer service again…

I did the updated process again with the same effect. The upgrading process crashed at 13% progress with Copying Files progres of 45%. It always crash at the same moment. PC full updated and Windows 10 Media Creator freshly downloaded.

I have performed full Windows 8.1 update few times. The system crashes every time during the update.

Thanks. I can wait with update. I have already recovered the Windows Key from the system. I was chating with Microsoft yesterday about Windows 10 activation. They did not mention this options to be available in November.

I am still struggling with Windows 10 upgrade and WHEA error. I think I will sent it back to Acer or give it to kids. When I update the Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 it crushs with WHEA error jus tin the middle of installation process. I can do a clean Windows 10 installation but then I cannot activate Windows 10.......
