Hello,
i purchased a second hand acer aspire e17 e5 772g-547n
it has a i5 5200u cpu
nvidia 920m gpu
8 gb ram
1Tb hdd

now i bought a m2 sata from a friend (256Gb) and it has sit in a acer 3 laptop (he sold it because he upgraded his m2 sata to 1Tb

i opened up my laptop and there is a m2 ssd port beside the ram modules
i installed it correctly but the bios won't show the drive .
the bios is very basic and there is almost nothing to change in it .
so now my question is how is this possible that it won't show or work.
do i have to create first a backup on a flash drive , then remove the original hhd and then try again?
or is it possible to get in a sort of advanced mode of the bios ?
(i know there are e17 e5 772 models with both a m2sata and a 1Tb normal hdd)

can anyone help me please

Firstly, what are you using the M.2 SSD for? Is it a slave or a boot drive? The BIOS doesn’t show a slave drive it only shows in BIOS > Boot > Boot priority order your #1. “Windows Boot Manager” as your first priority boot disk. To see if your M.2 is recognised look in “Disk Management” and see if the M.2 is shown there? Show us a caption of your BIOS > Boot and also your “Disk Management”.

I’m posting a caption of a boot drive "Disk 0" GPT/UEFI (its an SSD) and a slave drive "Disk 1" MBR/Legacy (spinner HDD), this is what your “Disk Management” as a boot drive (GPT/UEFI) and your addition M.2 slave drive (MBR/Legacy) should look like or similar.
