Com um notebook acer, se fizer uma formatação através de um pendrive, vou perder minha key do win ?

Ao realizar uma formatação com um pendrive, perderei a chave do windows ?

    Dependerá de qual modelo e serie.
    Aparelhos mais recentes possuem chave de ativação do Windows gravada na Bios.
    Dessa forma uma formatação não remove a chave.
    Mas você perderia a garantia de software e o acesso ao sistema OEM sem realizar backup de segurança.

    Qual sistema operacional pretende instalar e qual motivo?

    Espere concluir o processo. em nenhum momento desligue o computador. Esse processo, em alguns casos, pode realmente demorar, principalmente em um hdd, quando é encontrado algum erro que precisa ser corrigido. O fato de estar em 40%, não significa que esteja realmente em 40%. Essa porcentagem não é real.
