Acer Aspire ES1-531 is driving me crazy

Hi
Can anybody help me out with a problem with my laptop? I have had it for about two years now I think and have had problems connecting to wi fi networks for at least the last year. The fist problem was that the airplane mode would come on automatically and not be able to switch off, but an update seems to have fixed this. But now for the last months or so intermittently it just says there are no wi fi networks available even though there is nothing wrong with wi fi network in my house (e.g. other devices working). It is starting to drive me a bit nuts. I have tried to update drivers, disable, enable , and various other things suggested on line. It worked fine for a bit after last window update, but now its not working again. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi,
If you already haven't tried this, give it a try but please backup your system or create a system restore point before doing this registry editing.
