How do I find my current BIOS version?
Locating the current BIOS version can help determine if your system is up-to-date and has the latest patches or fixes for your motherboard. To find your current BIOS version in Windows, please follow the steps below:
Windows 10: Type msinfo32 in the Windows search box and press Enter.
Windows 8: Press the Windows () key + X, select Run, and then type msinfo32 and hit the Enter key.
Windows 7 or Windows Vista: From the Start menu, type msinfo32 in the search bar and hit the Enter key.
Windows XP: From the Start menu, click Run and type msinfo32 in the Run box and hit the Enter key. In the System Information window, click System Summary and locate your current BIOS Version/Date to the right.
Another way to locate your BIOS version is from the Setup screen during the boot process. To do this follow the steps below:
- Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press the F2 key, or the DEL key if you have a desktop, to enter the BIOS
- From the default screen, locate your current BIOS version.
- To the right of the BIOS Version you will find the current version.
- Exit the BIOS screen by pressing the ESC key, and then select YES.
