Does your computer have a VGA output socket, if not then you'll most likely need to buy a new monitor with HDMI. Very cheap and worth every penny to have the latest display.
-
You'll have to do this to the new drive. BUT remember after you've clone to disconnect the old drive unbtil you've establish the NEW as a BOOT Drive.

Snipping is a breeze, once you get use to it. Snip and paste, or it's stored in screenshots for later uses. I do the windows key + shift + S to do it , I have the PRT SCN on my desktop but prefer the snipping tool.

You might need a STANDOFF AND A SCREW unless Crucial sends them . Amazon has them (USA). Search M2 SSD screw on Amazon. It will operate without the screw and stand off.
-
You'll probably need a M2 x 2.5 or M2 x 3.0 screw if it doesn't hold tight. Usually they fit securely. I would advise to get it up and booting with the NEW SSD then switch your old HD. The size will depend on how much spare data that you need. You can always go to a cheaper external USB hard drive for data storage, Much…

I was saying to take a photograph of the board but it's been posted so disregard. I see no reason for you not to move forward. Please let us know your progress

I would do a visual to be sure that your mother board is the same. If so, you'll notice a BIG DIFFERENCE in boot time.

You can clone your old drive to the new drive, then remove your old drive temporary and boot the new drive. Then after the new drive is established, plug your old drive back in and use it as a data or backup drive. I always used Acronis to clone, others use others. Be sure that you buy a SSD to fit the M2x80 slot. Maybe…

Try 50.VGND3.001 and sometimes Acer puts the cable in a bag with some DVD mounting parts, in the shipping box.dans looking for Power cable SATA 15 pins to 6 pins on motherboard Acer 1780 Commentaire de Larryodie 14 déc.

You probably can lift one of the wires and get the same results. There are programs to monitor the speed and temperature of the fan. I used to use Speccy.

Do you get any beeps or messages in the words that are displayed ? Can you take a picture of the screen ?? The recover USB can be created only a desktop too or bought from Acer parts. I wish that you could pull the backup battery inside and unplug the laptop from the supply battery, overnight thus resetting it. It might be…

Download the WIN10 tool from my link then plug it in. Power on while pressing F12. Then change your boot to the USB when the selection POPS up. Boot Enable has to be enabled 1st by going to Bios and changing then F10 to save and reboot, then reboot using the F12 key. It'll take an hour or more to create the drive.
-
Also its F12 to get to the USB selection. I know that Unnamed is confused, I'll try to past the complete procedure. :)
-
Boot Enable or Enable Boot in bios, has to be enabled before you can see the USB drive in boot devices.

You may have to RUN MSCONFIG and go to the Boot StartUp section and start dis-enabling if the above suggestion doesn't get rid of them. BE CAREFUL of free stuff as they'll add bloatware with out notifying you. If it's free then watch out esp. virus checkers. I only run Windows security that is installed by MS Windows.dans It keeps asking me to update driver my pc, just bought this 2 weeks Commentaire de Larryodie 8 déc.

I meant that ALT-F10 no longer works on ACER, maybe other computers ? I'm not sure as why they quit working except most likely an update ?
-
I don't think that ALT-F10 will work , you have to power cycle 3 times or so to invoke safe mode. I would try a reset by "Remove power and all cables from the desktop, and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Plug power back in to the desktop and see if the computer will power on" I would also post in the laptop…

It may not be in sync to the video with speakers. Slight delay. YouTube has a few videos that may help. search "no sound with hdmi" etc. What Windows are you using ?

Deleted my reply as the new safe mode does indeed appear if there has been a booting failure. I think My BAD and SteveGen I'm sorry for the reply.
